Arelion invests in MEF to advance digital transformation

While being a member of MEF since 2006 as part of Telia Company, Arelion is now a member of the organization as a standalone company

Stockholm, Sweden, 9 September 2022 - Arelion today announced it has joined MEF as the standalone company it became in June 2021 following Arelion’s divestment from Telia Company. MEF is a global industry association of network, cloud, and technology providers accelerating enterprise digital transformation. Arelion values its MEF membership as the company is dedicated to ensuring its services meet strict security and compliance requirements. Arelion’s range of MEF certified services is now updated with E-Line, ELAN and E-Access services with MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet certification.

“A membership in MEF offers an opportunity to engage in business-driven collaboration with leading global organizations. Together, we enable dynamic, trusted, and certified services that empower enterprises to embrace their own digital transformation and grow their business. We welcome Arelion as the newest addition to our growing, vibrant community of MEF members who are working to progress our MEF 3.0 Global Services Framework,” said Nan Chen, President, MEF.

MEF’s work is addressing an industry need to standardise – which not only allows companies to set the right expectations but also enables automation through a defined set of parameters and APIs. Arelion’s products and services address a growing market need for high-bandwidth connectivity. By offering MEF 3.0 certified services based on well-established industry standards, Arelion provides its customers with peace of mind and universal technology to adopt and implement. Arelion’s Ethernet services provide an ideal platform to build L3 capabilities and provide functions not available in higher layer services. The company is also investing in MEF certification programs for professionals, with existing staff already certified and new certifications planned.

“We are eager to continue engaging with the MEF community as Arelion and collaborate to address the industry’s business challenges to empower enterprise digital transformation,” said Anna Maslewska, Product Manager Ethernet at Arelion. “As a member, we see an opportunity to bring years of telecoms experience as the world’s number one ranked IP backbone to influence the compliance standards across the industry, collaborating with other service providers as well as software and hardware technology suppliers.”
